Panels Direct have just manufactured their 250,000th door panel after starting out in 1997 and have seen production rise to 700-800 door panels a week, including a number of coloured and woodgrain finishes with CoolSkin technology.
The market for door panels has changed considerably since the first generation of panels over 20 years ago and now the latest panel technology from 3D Laminates allows for considerably better performance and a perfect match to foiled and laminated PVCu door profiles. As the number of colours from the leading PVCu systems companies has increased, so too has the availability of matching door panels and now Panels Direct can offer 26 laminated colours and woodgrains from stock.
In addition, sister company Direct Form Plastics manufactures their own composite doors under the brand name Trojan and have also started using the CoolSkin material from 3D Laminates. In stark contrast to the colour matching issues with some external GRP doors, the coloured and woodgrained Trojan doors are a perfect match from door slab to PVCu frame material.
