3D Laminates Ltd have signed a further exclusivity deal with Konrad Hornschuch AG for their Cool Color foil, which forms part of 3D’s unique CoolSkin product for door panels. The company is also enjoying a 20% increase in sales from 2009, a reflection of the trend in the home improvement market towards coloured and woodgrain products.CoolSkin sheets are now used by over 75% of all door panel companies in the UK and Ireland including GAP, Nice Door Panels and New World Developments. The product was developed 5 years ago to satisfy the demand for a coloured and woodgrain door panel that could provide lasting performance, whatever the extremes in temperature.
Since the launch of CoolSkin, the product has performed to the high expectations that were set during the research and development process and the exceptional performance levels have been fundamental to the recent emergence of 2nd generation door panels. The door panel sector has benefitted from a renewed confidence and the fact that with a proven door frame, installers can readily meet the demands from the new Building Regulations.
Mark Lofthouse, managing director of 3D Laminates comments: “We’re delighted to sign a further exclusivity contract with Hornschuch, it shows a long-term commitment by both parties to the UK market and in particular to the door panel sector.
He continues: “Coloured and woodgrain door panel sales are increasing thanks to some very modern designs and supported by the wide availability of matching door frames. I must point out though that many first generation composite door slabs still don’t match their frames or glazing cassettes!”
